We have over 30 years in the sitework industry, the last 7 doing turnkey civil site development for commercial and industrial clients. That changes how a clearing job gets done.
- We clear for what comes next
A house pad, a driveway, a pasture or a view. We set up the ground for the next step so you are not paying to fix it later.
- We watch the water
Slopes, drainage paths, creeks and stream buffers get planned before the machine starts, so clearing does not send mud downhill.
- We speak builder
Plans, limits of disturbance, erosion control and permits are familiar ground. Builders and developers get a crew that fits their schedule.

Why most jobs don't need a bulldozer.
Traditional clearing pushes, piles and burns. Forestry mulching grinds trees and brush where they stand and leaves the ground covered and protected.
| Forestry mulching | Traditional clearing | |
|---|---|---|
| Debris | Ground into mulch and spread on site | Piled, then burned or hauled off |
| Soil | Roots and topsoil mostly left in place, covered by mulch | Bare, disturbed soil that washes in the rain |
| Equipment | One tracked machine with low ground pressure | Dozer, excavator, trucks and often a burn crew |
| Selective clearing | Easy to keep the trees you want | Harder to work around trees you want to save |
| Best for | Underbrush, acreage, trails, fence lines, views, hunting land, most homesites | Building pads that need stumps and roots fully removed |
Building a house or a driveway? We do both: mulch the site first, then grub, grade and haul off only where the plan needs it.

Common questions
What is forestry mulching?
Forestry mulching is a way of clearing land where one machine cuts and grinds trees, brush and vines in place and spreads the material as mulch across the ground. There are no burn piles and no trucks hauling debris on most jobs. The mulch layer protects the soil from erosion and breaks down over time. We run a tracked skid steer with a forestry mulching head, which is light on the ground and fits into tight spots.
How is forestry mulching different from traditional land clearing?
Traditional clearing pushes trees over with a dozer, digs out the stumps, piles the debris and then burns or hauls it, which leaves bare, torn-up soil. Forestry mulching grinds everything in place in one step, leaves the topsoil and root mat mostly undisturbed and covers the ground with mulch. It is usually faster, cleaner and easier on the land. When you are building and need a clean pad, we also grub, grade, haul off or burn where allowed.
How much does land clearing cost in North Georgia?
Every job is priced after we look at it, and the quote is free. The main things that set the price are how much land there is, how thick the growth is, the size and type of trees, slope and terrain, how easy it is to get the machine in, whether you want mulch left or material hauled off, and how far the property is from Commerce. Send us the address and a few photos and we will give you a clear price.
Do you remove stumps?
Our mulcher takes stumps down to about ground level, which is fine for pasture, trails, yards and most land management work. We do not offer below-grade stump grinding. If you are building and need stumps and roots fully removed for a house pad or driveway, we can grub them out as part of clearing and grading.
Do I need a permit to clear my land in Georgia?
It depends on the county, the size of the area and how much soil is disturbed. Sites disturbing one acre or more generally need state stormwater permit coverage, and many counties require a land disturbance permit. Work within 25 feet of state waters (50 feet on trout streams) has buffer rules. Mulching leaves roots and soil mostly in place, which counties often treat differently from grubbing and grading, but check with your county. We will walk you through what applies.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Commerce, Georgia, and work across all of North Georgia and metro Atlanta. That includes Jackson, Hall, Barrow, Gwinnett, Clarke, Oconee, Madison, Banks, Franklin, Hart, Stephens, Habersham, White, Dawson, Forsyth, Cherokee, Pickens and the metro Atlanta counties.
